Kansas City Royals left fielder, Alex Gordon recently announced that he will retire from the MLB at the end of the 2020 season. Sports Blogger, Gianmarco Castronovo shares the farewell story:
After nearly a decade and a half, Alex Gordon will be stepping off the field. With 14 years of hard work, dedication and memories under his cleats, Gordon has had an admirable career in the MLB. The left fielder, who fans and teammates have affectionately nicknamed Gordo, describes himself as a lifelong Royal through and through. Growing up, he dreamed of playing for the Royals. A three-time All-Star with 7 Gold Gloves and 1 Platinum Glove, he certainly lived the dream! Gordon’s career stats include: .257/.338/.411 (102 OPS+) hitter, 1,641 hits, 357 doubles, 26 triples, 190 home runs, 749 RBI, 866 runs, 113 steals and 34.9 WAR. But the season isn’t over yet and as they say, it isn’t over until it’s over!
